Many thanks to all 88 contributors to my Indiegogo campaign, all of whom helped make this album possible. Special thanks to the long-time support of Executive Producers Karen Cooper and Bruce Schneier. Many thanks to Dave Bade and John Rhodes for the loan of their guitars. Thanks also to all of my previous music instructors, and to Dr. Erik Reis whose guidance give me back my ability to play. Much gratitude to producer Raymond Yates and engineer Reid Kruger, two friends who are exceptional at what they do. And finally, thank you to my amazing wife Natalie Nowytski, whose astounding talent is matched by her love and patience.

1. Valijevo
(tuning: CGCGCD) Alvarez baritone guitar
Summer 2016. For my Romani brothers and sisters in Valijevo, Serbia at Amala School. Te aven baxtale! Written in mixed meter: 12/8 (7+5), 4/4 and 7/8.

2. Lullaby
(tuning: DGDGBD) Thompson six-string, Picador high strung guitar
Winter 1996. A lively lullaby that you can dance to.

3. House of Long Goodbyes (a tango)
(standard tuning) Cordoba nylon string
Summer 2010. Sometimes it takes a while to say goodbye.

4. Air To A Muse
(tuning: CGCGCD) Thompson six-string
March 2018. A Scottish Air written for the muse. This is what happens when my Celtic influences take over.

5. Passing Through
(standard) Cordoba nylon string
Fall 2009. Inspired by the work of guitarists Joe Pass and Chet Atkins. I stand on the shoulders (and slightly on the neck) of giants.

6. Gotas de Rocio
(standard) Cordoba nylon string
Fall 2008. Inspired by the instructional etudes of early 20th century guitarist Julio Segraras.

7. That Was The Time That Was
(tuning: DGDGBD) Thompson six-string, Picador high strung guitar
Fall 2010. A tune from another time. That was the time that was in our lives.

8. The Park At Midnight
(standard) Cordoba nylon string
Summer 1989. An early guitar piece. Written in Pioneer Park, looking over the St. Croix River valley.

9. Giuliani Ruchenitsa – Composed by Mauro Giuliani. Arrangement by Scott Keever.
(standard) Cordoba nylon string
Summer 2016. Based on “Etude in e minor” by 19th century composer/guitarist Mauro Giuliani. This is my arrangement as a Bulgarian Ruchenitsa in 7/16 (2+2+3).

10. Safe Travels
(tuning: DGDGBD) Amistar resophonic guitar (slide), ebow/drone
June 2018. Producer Raymond Yates asked me to write a tune for this album on the resophonic guitar. So I did: A journey from the Mississippi delta to the Balkans and the edges of New Delhi.

11. Waking Dream
(tuning: CGCGCD) Alvarez baritone guitar, Picador high strung guitar
Fall 2017. Floating somewhere, in between. This is the sound of it.

12. The Throne Room
(standard) Cordoba nylon string
Spring 2015. Interstitial music from “Black Death: The Musical”: The Pope’s throne room scene.

13. Song for Tusya
(tuning: CGCGCD – capo 3) Alvarez baritone guitar
Winter 2017. For my wife Natalie. She loves the Beatles and unresolved musical endings.
